Irma,
Russia
by Ina Steinberg, BA, MA,
PhD.
Charming, the village is
simply a group of dachas built by those who work in the nearest town 50 miles
away and come here in the summer.
Also living here fulltime are a few hearty folks such as the woman who invited
us into her home for some “wodka” and treats.
And this at 10:00 AM.

Meanwhile, back at the ship we watch as the captain steers us
through ice flows. We also enjoy
our Russian entertainers, relax in the sun (note the Russian sunbather!), and
take the courses offered in Russian history, language, art, music Russian folk
dancing and we eat, and we eat, and we eat….
